TestHRegionWithInMemoryFlush is in master, but without getScanners() in place,
the bug wouldn't be triggered.
bq. Eshcar's patch is generated on master branch which does't have unit test.
Eshcar's patch only changed TestHeapSize which was required for test suite to
run. There is no new test showing the correctness of the change.
bq. What if CompactionPipeline#getScanners() in HBASE-17081 will be implemented
using getSegments() which are already synchronized?
Copy on write semantics allows getScanners() to proceed without
synchronization. In a multi-reader scenario, this is more performant.
