[~grimesmi] and [~zyork] I pushed this to master branch. Thanks for the nice 
fix. Next would be to put it on branch-1 but it failed application. If you put 
up a patch for branch-1, I'll apply there too... 

Our general policy is that we don't put a patch on branch-1.2 unless it is in 
branch-1 and in all branches in between. You want it in 1.2? If so, make sure 
it applies on branch-1.3 tooo... then I'll backport after it goes into branch-1.

Sorry we have so many branches in flight at the one time.
