On updating hadoop, you'll have to wait on HBASE-17893 and 2.8.0 is advertised
as not stable -- we should wait on 2.8.1 probably (see our refguide... it has a
note on 2.8.0 not being stable).
On guava, you go to 15 but it looks like 21 is latest and I think we have to
shade guava: see the discussion thread here:

On pb, internally we use pb3. I don't think 2.6 is compat w/ 2.5 (IIRC -- we
should take a look see).
Jetty should be good given we are independent of hadoop now -- though there
could be issues on CLASSPATH.
This stuff is awkward. Thanks for digging in [~tushee] You could do a subtask
w/ the 'safe' updates and we can get that in. Make subtasks for the awkward
items like guava and we can do discussion in the subtask?
