Even a little - moving up to 14.0.1 - would be good. Hive is up to 14.0.1 (see 
HIVE-13045) and Calcite supports a range from 14.0.1 to 21. An old version of 
Guava that used to be bearable a year ago now becomes more and more painful for 
HBase's dependencies.
