I'd rather not have to mess with the debug mode because I can never remember
how to turn it on and looking it up is a huge pain. Maybe if we included
instructions for it in the error output, that would be better too.
Actually, at that point, we could spend some effort to figure out how to make
the whole error reporting more user friendly. Maybe that's a separate issue
though, and this one can remain narrowly focused.
