Honestly, I'm wondering whether we should revert HBASE-17924 since the sorting
costs but seems to be less valuable after the change here. And I think we
should find a way to reproduce/prevent the deadlock in UT, even with
HBASE-17924 (although much harder I guess). Thoughts?
