A long lived full-system test case, for verifying releases, migration,
integration with other tools. Could be filed under BigTop, but this should also
be useful to the HBase project as part of its infrastructure.
Goals:
- Provide a live bug reporting system for the HBase project.
- Provide (arguably) useful analysis of collected bug reports, and a
framework for adding more over time.
- Maintain a project owned application backed by a Hadoop+HBase cluster
that can be used to try out release candidates as part of the release process,
insuring rolling restart is possible.
- Evaluate, and possibly improve, HBase<->Pig integration motivated by a
application use case. (Auto-mapping of Pig data structures into HBase tables
and vice versa? Some mix of online schema modification and use of Avro or
protobufs perhaps.)
