Mike Drob commented on HBASE-19354:
-----------------------------------
oh no, belated review here, sorry...
bq. maven:3.5-jdk-8 is 1.8.0_151. The hack here adds in 1.8.0_152
This is a subtle difference due to how oracle releases the critical patch
updated and limited patch updates. even numbers end up being "bleeding edge"
more or less, but it sounds like we might need a specific bug fix from there.
the next odd numbered release (8u155 likely) may or may not include all of the
fixes in 8u152, so we need to be careful next time we upgrade...

> HDFS mini cluster hangs when it runs on openjdk 151. See parent issue where
> [~chia7712] turns up the hang and then Xiao Chen confirms up in the parent
> issue in a comment. Lets do what Xiao Chen suggests which comes from a Todd
> approach over in kudu where we install newer versions of the jdk so we
> by-pass the hdfs hangs.
