Umesh Agashe commented on HBASE-18962:
--------------------------------------

[~chancelq], can you explain why do you think
#resultOrExceptionBuilder.setException(pair) needs to be replaced with
builder#setException(pair)? I think this code is in doNonAtomicRegionMutation()
where following code is used even before these changes:
{code}
resultOrExceptionBuilder.setException(pair);
builder.addResultOrException(resultOrExceptionBuilder.build());
{code}
Check doBatchOp() call just before the code you have posted. Do you see any
issue with the current code?

> Support all mutations in BatchOperations to be applied atomically (all or
> none) by locking all rows corresponding to mutations exclusively.
> mutateRows() which uses MultiRowMutationProcessor applies all mutations
> atomically and batchMutate() is non-atomic. To unify code paths, isAtomic()
> attribute can be added to BatchOperations.
