stack commented on HBASE-19562:
-------------------------------
bq. ....is it possible to recover a meta table using just the storefiles...
Would opening a region over the hbase:meta dir in hdfs and scanning its content
do for you?
These files should go because they are a duplication of the meta info that can
be stale.
After filing this issue last night, I think a straight purge is not possible,
not till we figure rolling upgrade.
Let me take a look at HBASE-18440 Mr [~zyork]
> Purge mirror writing of region and table info into fs at .tableinfo and
> .regioninfo

> We don't use these files in hbase2 yet we keep writing them when we create a
> table or region.
