Reviewed the code, I think this could be an incompatible change. For the old
pre branch-2 implementation, empty ClusterKey and ReplicationEndpointImpl means
we will not change these fields. But now we will not throw exception. So I
think we need a release note here, and do not commit this patch to branch-1 or
earlier.
