Release Note: Add checkClosed to core Client methods. Avoid unnecessary
retry.
Status: Resolved (was: Patch Available)
Pushed to master and branch-2 (because [~Apache9] is on holiday). The
checkstyle complains about a method being too long but it is a class delegating
to override a few methods; bit tough to cut its size down so passing on it for
now.
