I recently had to set up a 50 node cluster (GCE machines) and install Hbase on
it. I realized that an automated script (*basically shell script*) could be
used to automate this process (of downloading the jars, setting up
password-less ssh among the machines, setting up configuration files, copying
to all the nodes ..... start Hadoop & Hbase) in a newly started cluster of
machines.
[~elserj] & [~busbey] thanks for your comments. I must open up that I haven't
had a chance to work with bigtop till now. I might have missed something over
here. I'll definitely have a look. Meanwhile, if you could guide me, that
whether this could possibly be a project or there is some more tuning to be
done with the problem statement?
