a fix version of 1.5.1+ for branch-1s is a problem, since upgrading JRuby from
branch-1's super old JRuby 1.6 to the 9k line is going to be very disruptive. I
personally would like to see us avoid that for any branch-1s, but that may not
be possible if we really need JDKs after JDK8 to work on a future branch-1
release.
