Please continue to use branch-1.
As a community we just need some attention paid to unit test hygiene on
branch-1, no reason to block ongoing work, unless you find a repeatable test
failure or even a flake, in which case please at least file an issue to track
the test failure. Of course, a patch to fix the problem is always highly
desirable...
