I mean, the Hadoop trunk precommit tests pass with JDK8. Reading comments in
HADOOP-15775, [~ajisakaa] had definitely taken into account JDK9, 10 and 11
support. I guess the approach HADOOP-15775 took is meant to be simple. Simpler
than crafting maven profiles for different JDKs.
