I created a PR for branch-2: https://github.com/apache/hbase/pull/1209 and it
looks like the QA is okay.
I don't think it disturbs existing API, but it just adds the new API. Could you
please double check it? [~ndimiduk] [~stack] [~zhangduo] If one of you confirms
that, will merge the PR to branch-2.
