right now we only need jdk7 compat on gson and I'd like to keep that so long as
branch-1 is having releases. I'd be very surprised if the gson community
increased their minimum jdk to 9+ on a maintenance release when they've spent
so long maintaining jdk6 compatibility. it's probably just that they are future
proofing and the enforcer plugin is wrong. we've hit MENFORCER-300 several
times and know how to work around it. I would just like us to do that after
taking care of this release because nothing is pressing for gson.
