Jonathan Hsieh commented on HBASE-5887:
---------------------------------------

Yes. When you use the tool wrapper stuff you get parsers for that for free.

You could do something like this to override any of these values:

{code}
$ hbase org.apache.hadoop.hbase.TestAcidGuarantees -Dmillis=60000
-DnumWriters=25 -DnumGetters=10 -DnumScanners=5 -DnumUniqueRows=5
{code}

I should probably add a '-h' or '-?' option to prompt usage instructions.

> Make TestAcidGuarantees usable for system testing.

> Currently, the TestAcidGuarantees run via main() will always abort with an
> NPE because it digs into a non-existant HBaseTestingUtility for a flusher
> thread. We should tool this up so that it works properly from the command
> line. This would be a very useful long running test when used in conjunction
> with fault injections to verify row acid properties.
