I just did an edit on the Design doc. Added section on 'Async WAL Replication'
current state (section 3.1) –- i.e. it is unused even though it has been
checked in for ~5 years now -- concluding that the current effort is "...
solving for the special case of catalog tables only. If _async WAL Replication_
can be made work satisfactorily for the special case, it may revive interest in
[_async WAL Replication_] for user-space Tables. At that time, we’ll can come
back to work on the general case."
