Chatting w/ [~toffer] and [~zhangduo] on wednesday, the suggestion was made
that we just start the split meta project over; that we go back to requirements
and get agreement on these first and from there, move forward to an agreed-upon
design and from there to implementation. We'd do this to make this project
more open to collaboration and to help ensure the resulting product will be
more broadly acceptible to the community.
(The thought is that we will probably end up using a lot of what has already
been written here – text and code – but only that which aligns w/ requirements,
and so on)
In the spirit of the above sentiment, I think we should leave this issue behind
and open a new one. This issue is full of great discussion but there is a lot
of not-so-great discussion too. Either way, it has gotten too long for any but
the most determined to make sense of.
Shout if you disagree and think we should keep all of split meta here,
including the reset, otherwise I'll open a new issue over the weekend and start
by putting up a location to catch requirements in.
