I think this solution is not complete either. See the attached screenshot, the
browser console as seen from running a standalone instance. Here we insert the
master's hostname as understood by the system, but it does not match what the
browsers loaded (in this case, just {{localhost}}). So I think we need to
revert this change and instead use a hostless url for the data resource, if
possible.
