[~frostruan] Due to a UT failure I have to revert the commits to master and
branch-2 first, it is TestSplitWALManager.testAcquireAndRelease, where after
releasing we will directly wake up the previous procedure so now the final
acquire call will fail.
PTAL and prepare a new PR?
