Ok I believe the problem is simply that when we updated hadoop to 2.10.2 we did
not also update netty.hadoop.version for the hadoop-2.0 profile to the correct
version which is 3.10.6.Final according to
[https://github.com/apache/hadoop/blob/rel/release-2.10.2/hadoop-project/pom.xml#L721.]
I've filed https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-27592 for this
