Add xml to download page: PR merged
Create tag rel/2.6.0: git show 2.6.0RC4; copy commit sha; git tag -s rel/2.6.0
<sha> -u <gpg key> -m "Apache HBase release 2.6.0"
Release 2.6.0 on JIRA: go to
[https://issues.apache.org/jira/plugins/servlet/project-config/HBASE/administer-versions?status=unreleased,]
find 2.6.0, click three dots on right, choose Release from dropdown, fill in
date and submit.
Add release date on addrelease.html: self explanatory, fill out form
Send announcement email: Wait 24hr, then see template
