Jonathan Hsieh commented on HBASE-6159:
---------------------------------------
I tested watching the zk procesa and the shell processes with lsof and didn't
see the number of files/connections go up. This is against a 0.94.1rc0 version
of hbase. Was this only against and older version (just 0.90.x?)

> ZK connection count always goes up by one when running shell command:
> {code}
> hbase(main):001:0> truncate 'table'
> {code}
> This can be fixed with the change in admin.rb:
> {code}
> - h_table = org.apache.hadoop.hbase.client.HTable.new(table_name)
> - table_description = h_table.getTableDescriptor()
> + table_description = @admin.getTableDescriptor(table_name.to_java_bytes)
> {code}
