This was in reference to HBASE-6509, a patch that I -0'ed.
That filter took advantage of the fast fowarding mechanism in filtering, but I
felt the filter was a bit too custom to be included in hbase core. I wasn't
aware of jiras for scripted filters -- I think that would be a fine alternative
to having a filter plugin mechanism.
[~larsgeorge] can you provide a link to the scripted filter jira?
