Hi Kumar,
Note that the implementation is slightly different on 0.96/trunk (but still
relies on sun jvm). There are as well some optimizations linked to the sun jvm
that makes it more interesting in the general case (see HBASE-4012).
For this Jira it's mainly an helper function, so it's easier. Imho, it would be
as well acceptable to simply deactivate the metric if we can't get it easily.
But it would make the ibm build less powerful than the sun/oracle one.
