Wait, in all cases the data was flushed to the DN. hsync and hflush give 
exactly the same guarantees here (it's the same code path).
If hsync is broken here, so it hflush.

What can currently happen (past HDFS-265) for both hflush and hsync is that the 
data is still in the DN buffers (not in the OS buffers - in case of hflush,  or 
on disk - in case of hsync)... Unless I seriously misunderstand.
