I'm not up to speed on hbase/map-reduce integration. Will it still work ok
with the KeyValueSortReducer?
Otherwise, it's pretty easy to mimic the writable format within hbase. There's
some methods in KeyValueTool that take a Cell parameter and write the KeyValue
format bytes to ByteBuffers and arrays. Easy to add more for OutputStreams, etc
