There was some offline conversation about wheather we bring this patch and
snapshots to apache 0.94. Let's do that conversation here to make why we are
deciding one way or the other. The patch on review board has gotten a +1.
The question: should we bring this in to 0.94? [~lhofhansl]? [~jesse_yates]?
