[~lhofhansl] does this imply moving some of the more arcane to a separate
module / jar? Also if a user wants to do a truly custom filter, ideally
they'ed go througth the trouble of adding jar to path, and somehow hooking it
in (a la coproc). Doing it totally dynamically (a la MR) seems like overkill.
