In trunk, we already have a new version of TestTokenAuthentication that tests
the client/server interactions for token authentication. However, this only
exercises an RPC client directly, so it doesn't go through the
HConnectionImplementation path where the problem occurred.
I'm not sure how we can easily run PerformanceEvaluation + security in the
absence of a supporting KDC. I've thought about how we can better test
security in general, even to the point of embedding a java based KDC, doing
principal and keytab generation, etc. But that seems like a much larger effort
outside the scope of this issue.
I agree that we have a big hole in coverage here, though, and I'm open to any
ideas.
