Can you use the following method in place of createWriter() ?

return createWriter(fs, path, ostream, blockSize,
compression, encoder, comparator, checksumType, bytesPerChecksum);
}

You can set parameters this way:

public WriterFactory withChecksumType(ChecksumType checksumType) {
Preconditions.checkNotNull(checksumType);
this.checksumType = checksumType;
