I don't see what is different in v5.
Looking at patch again, ain't this totally obnoxious overwriting old configs?
Isn't going to surprise in frustrating ways ("Why is my config. not taking
effect?"). Could you narrow to a subset the configs you are changing and can
you flag when you are overriding w/ at least a log message (how many configs
are overridden anyways?)
