The region list was obtained this way:
{code}
List<HRegion> regions = getHBaseCluster().getRegions(tableName);
{code}
where I see:
{code}
if (Bytes.equals(region.getTableDesc().getName(), tableName)) {
ret.add(region);
{code}
So the region returned from getSplittableRegion() wouldn't be null.
