um, sorry to respond late, by "still may not work" above I meant that both will
probably be necessary.
HBASE-8161 requires ability to add settings on table or CF, which 0.94 doesn't
have (correct me if I'm wrong).
HBASE-5335 adds one of them and HBASE-7236 sub-jiras add both but much more
intrusively.
