Jean-Marc Spaggiari commented on HBASE-8322:
--------------------------------------------
I can't put an SSD drive in it, or even simply use 8GB from the memory as the
tmp drive.
However, if you test run for 10 hours, the few seconds spent at the beginning
to load from the classes from the disc will not really have any impact on the
results. Then you will see howmuch HBase is accessing the disk. In production,
I guess most of the clusters have regular rotaring disks and not in-memory of
SSD drives...
Anyway, just ping me if you need me to run that what ever configuration you
want (Memory/SSD/SATA)

> Double checksumming issues in HBase level checksums(HBASE-5074) has been
> fixed in HBASE-6868. However, that patch also disables hbase checksums by
> default. I think we should re-enable it by default, and document the
> interaction with shortcircuit reads.
