Jesse Anderson commented on HBASE-8594:
---------------------------------------

I'm seeing it in HBase 0.92.1 in CDH 4.1.1. I didn't see a JIRA saying it had
been fixed in a later version.

> HBase Shell Reconnect

> When the Master dies and the HBase shell is still running, the HBase shell
> will report even after the Master is restarted:
> ERROR: java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException: Connection refused
> Currently, the only way to reconnect is by exiting and starting the shell.
> Ideally, the shell would reconnect automatically. It would report a
> connection lost and that the shell was reconnecting.
> If that isn't possible for some reason, add a reconnect command.
