Dmitry Tolpeko commented on HIVE-11159:
---------------------------------------
Besides executing general procedural statements HPL/SQL can act as a SQL-skin
i.e. it will be able to accept, for example, an Oracle script and execute it
with no or little changes. Eventually there will be many options to manage such
execution, and not only for Oracle, but any other databases used with Hive (we
are not replacing traditional DWH yet, right?).
I am afraid that if we put all these options to hive-site.xml they can confuse
Hive users. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
