Review comment:
this testcase is unlucky; the value is something which is always prefixed
with "val" so that it will evaulate to null no matter what.
something more interesting would be better.

I think in this case (as long as we don't have a real groupby in action) we
can just "drop" the windowing things...since the result will be the same for
all rows; which then distincted
