Kevin Risden commented on HIVE-5312:
------------------------------------

The change looks reasonable to me on the surface. Most of the change is in test
files only. The core logic is basically registering the two services (http and
binary) instead of just the one configured. It adds an additional config for
all so shouldn't break backwards compatibility either making this opt in.

> Let HiveServer2 run simultaneously in HTTP (over thrift) and Binary (normal
> thrift transport) mode

> [HIVE-4763|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-4763] adds support for
> HTTP transport over thrift. With that, HS2 can be configured to run either
> using using HTTP or using normal thrift binary transport. Ideally HS2 should
> be supporting both modes simultaneously and the client should be able to
> specify the mode used in serving the request.
