Review Comment:
`testJDOPersistanceManagerCleanup` in TestHiveMetaStore is testing that. The
failure in that test led to the fixes proposed in this patch. Without this
patch, testJDOPersistanceManagerCleanup() fails in Thrift over HTTP mode.
