I think you mean this PR of iceberg `mr `package:
https://github.com/apache/iceberg/pull/7123. I will port this change here.
In addition, i find several PR from iceberg` hive-metastore` package which
not exist in Hive iceberg-handler module and I will check if these PR are
valuable to Hive iceberg-handler. If ok ,I will port them in a separate PR.
