Szehon Ho updated HIVE-13420:
-----------------------------
Attachment: HIVE-13420.2.patch
Patched UI.2.png
Thanks Mohit for the suggestions, made some changes.
One additional change is to remove 'Query' from even other sub-titles to
eliminate redundancy, as suggested for the 'Query Drilldown' link title.
For 'Operations', I think introducing that term in this UI might lead to some
confusion for the non-technical user, so I errored on the side of caution and
decided not to use that word either. I think the concept of 'opened' and
'closed' queries is the only one that UI will present, and in terms of
SQLOperation is equivalent.

> Today the "Queries" section of the WebUI shows SQLOperations that are not
> closed.
> Elapsed time is thus a bit confusing, people might take this to mean query
> runtime, actually it is the time since the operation was opened. The query
> may be finished, but operation is not closed. Perhaps another timer column
> is needed showing the runtime of the query to reduce this confusion.
