Peter Vary commented on HIVE-17369:
-----------------------------------

[~kgyrtkirk]: My limited understanding of the problem is that the "software is
working up to expectations" :), but it is not easy to rewrite the tests which
are testing this specific case after the change. The failures are due to the
testing code, and not due to a problem in Hive. [~sbeeram]: Could you confirm
this?

To be absolutely honest with you I would prefer fixing the tests, but if this
takes some time I am happy with both the revert or with turning of the tests,
so they do not pollute the test results. You are absolutely right, that if we
turn the tests off this might end up as a final "solution" which is the worst
option from all the possible ones, so I can be easily convinced :)

[~alangates]: As the first one to raise this issue, what is your opinion about
this? Shall we revert the change, or disable the tests?

Thanks,
Peter
