what are your connection settings? Do you use the Apache Hive database type? can you connect to your Hive database with similar Java-base tools e.g. DBeaver? we have a (working) [integration test](https://ci-builds.apache.org/job/Hop/job/Hop-integration-tests/lastCompletedBuild/testReport/(root)/spark/) for Apache Hive.
