### Apache Hop version? hop-client-2.20.0-20261009.154204-1 ### Java version? "21.0.11" 2026-04-21 ### Operating system Windows ### What happened? **Editor state** - Changing Target Type clears Field and Condition, even when the field exists for the new target (e.g. name from Pipeline to Workflow). - Choosing the same field again clears Condition. - Only the dropdowns are cleared. The clause table still shows the old values, so the dialog shows two different states, and OK fails until both are picked again. When the field changes to one that doesn't support the old condition, the clause keeps the old condition anyway. - Switching to a condition without a value (e.g. Matches Pattern → Not Null) hides the Value field but keeps its content, so hop-lint.yml gets condition: NOT_NULL together with the old conditionValue. Rules without a value are also written with an empty conditionValue: ''. **Validation** - Only the selected clause is validated. A rule with an empty extra clause passes OK, and saving then fails with Cannot invoke "org.apache.hop.lint.RuleCondition.name()" because the return value of "org.apache.hop.lint.RuleClause.getCondition()" is null. The file is left untouched, but the Rules Manager already shows the rule as added. **Rule ids and pack rules** - New project rules get a UUID as their id (e.g. a57f1874-0928-4cc1-a600-e5ad1a9ee14f), since there is no Rule ID field. That id then appears in findings, SARIF and --list-rules, and is needed to suppress or override the rule. - Changing only the name or description of a pack rule writes the whole rule as type: custom, so it silently replaces the pack rule and stops picking up its updates. Afterwards Delete Rule is enabled for it and actually restores the pack rule, which contradicts the button's name and the dialog's own text. - The Lint Rules Manager can't be sorted by clicking its column headers. Expected: keep Field and Condition while they are still valid and keep the table in step; clear the value when the condition doesn't use one; validate every clause; an editable Rule ID field checked for clashes; a warning (or an override) when a pack rule's name or description changes, and "Restore pack rule" instead of Delete; sortable columns. ### Issue Priority Priority: 3 ### Issue Component Component: Hop Gui -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
