### What would you like to happen? **Problem Statement** Apache Hop’s AI integration appears to have been tightly coupled to LangChain4j-backed providers, limiting extensibility and making it difficult to add providers that do not fit that ecosystem. Users need a consistent way to configure and use multiple AI providers (including non-LangChain4j ones) through Hop metadata and runtime chat APIs. **Proposed Feature** Introduce provider-agnostic AI chat contracts in core and update AI plugin runtime/UI to resolve and use both LangChain4j and non-LangChain4j providers. Add first-class support for GitHub Copilot as a new AI provider plugin. **Primary Goals / Scope** Define neutral chat abstractions in core: - AiChatMessage - AiChatRequest - AiChatResponse - IAiChatProvider - updates to IAiProvider Refactor AI engine components to use these abstractions: - AiChatFactory - AiModelCatalog Update metadata editor behavior (AiProviderEditor) so users can select/configure expanded provider types. Add a dedicated plugins/tech/copilot module with (optional - SDK might not meet Apache requirements): - GitHubCopilotProvider - provider-specific i18n/messages - module registration via plugins/tech/pom.xml - Document configuration and usage in: docs/hop-user-manual/.../ai-provider.adoc **Acceptance Criteria** Hop can discover and instantiate AI providers that do not depend on LangChain4j. ### Issue Priority Priority: 3 ### Issue Component Component: Other -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
