imbajin opened a new issue, #793:
URL: https://github.com/apache/hugegraph-toolchain/issues/793

CDC UPDATE events can change a vertex ID or an edge identity (endpoints or
sort keys). Deleting the old element before submitting its replacement can lose
valid data when Server rejects the new element; deleting a vertex also removes
its incident edges.

#786 limits UPDATE to unchanged identities and rejects identity changes
before any graph mutation. This issue tracks safe support for identity
migration separately from the Java 17 upgrade.

The follow-up needs to define and verify:

   - Atomic replacement or a complete failure/compensation contract, including
incident edges.
   - UNIQUE value transfer when the old element still owns the value.
   - Retry and checkpoint recovery after creation or cleanup partially succeeds.
   - Vertex and edge identity changes, multiple mappings per event, and
rejection by Server constraints.

Creating first alone does not cover UNIQUE conflicts or cleanup failures.
Keep the explicit rejection until these behaviors have a documented
implementation and real Server validation.
